Hey guys, first time posting in this subforum- so let me start off by saying I really admire all of your work. I don't claim to be a photographer- but being a musician for a living- I know what a talent it must be to understand/do photography other than a simple iPhone pic.
The days are getting closer when I'll be receiving my first brand new car after years of working, investing into vast forms of building assets rather than splurging on liabilities such as a 140k car- but Iwas finally comfortable enough to pull the trigger on my individually order/special order 2016 BMW m6 in frozen black, Opal white full merino leather and a 6 speed MT. (A true unicorn for sure) I really want to give the car it's proper welcoming when it gets to crevier BMW in July- and want a night shoot done on a rooftop over looking some city lights/condos. Ive attached what I had in mind (I've tried contacting the photographer and owners of the cars- but they're either too busy to answer me, or too caught up in their ways) regardless, it's a beautiful location- and would really appreciate anyone familiar with the SoCal area giving me any recommendations. I have a friend who does photography, however if you're willing to do this for a reasonable financial compensation, please PM your rates. This location is somewhere near the Essex Condo towers in Santa Ana, however I don't know exactly where this specific structure that the cars are on (and without the photog/owners of the cars replying I won't know) but maybe you can guide me to an even better location? Thank you all for taking the time to read this, and I truly hope nothing but success for you all. Rob

Just by sleuthing around in Earth View on Google Maps (I can't say from personal experience so don't quote me), there looks to be a good rooftop parking that looks to be about 6-8 stories high on Hope and 8th in Downtown... If you park on the East corner you can get a pretty good shot of the US Bank Tower and AON, plus a bunch of other high-rises surrounding it... That's the closest you can get to all the tall buildings in the Financial District since most that are actually in the area are underground parking.

Thanks for the find! I'm really familiar with that area so I'm going to check it out this week and see if it's accessible to the public and not a private residential structure (on 8th/hope there are condo towers there)

Some ideas in the OC for rooftop parking lots...Irvine Spectrum, South Coast Plaza, MacArthur Court in Newport/Irvine, by the airport. Lots of areas in Newport Coast, Irvine, Laguna Beach.
Best time to shoot is early am or late afternoon/evening. There's some pretty cool stuff you can do at night |

There's another structure (with rooftop access), also with good visibility of Essex, off Hutton Center Drive, but it appears to be fee-based parking as well. |

Ahhh sounds good! If you took a look at my friend's shots, you'll see he's pretty damn good with lighting to highlight extreme muscletone. Cars obviously aren't much different, especially frozen colors. This shoot will be pretty sick. Does C5driver have an M4?

Must be somebody else on the board I was thinking had a black M4 then. How cool would it be to grab all black M's... M3, M4, M5, M6 and an i3 sitting in the corner.

One of the other guys I know near me in Oceanside has an m6 GC in frozen black too, so it could be an epic turn out IF all the stars aligned, however getting everyone's schedule to match may be a bit difficult. The 3 of us (m6 coupes) shouldn't be a problem though.
