Remembering agile ...

I took my wife's old 2008 Audi TT 2.0t - now owned and driven by my daughter - out for a quick spin last night. It reminded me of what a truly agile car feels like. Back when we first bought it I was comparing it with my 2001 E46 M3 which could come awfully close, and with much better traction. Not so much when I traded for a 2010 M3 coupe two years later.

Of course a comparison with my E92 M3 or current 435i xDrive isn't really fair: both are much more practical (and faster) cars. But it did remind me of when the 3 series felt small and tossable. Oh and the interiors felt less like digital entertainment centers.

My brother still drives his 13 year old 330i 6 speed sedan. If only I were a low mileage driver like he is!

I've got my dreams out for a 2002 Turbo for a 6-speed conversion and full track day car mod.

Man I want one of those cars so bad......lol

Saw a standard 2002 sedan out on the road today. Excellent example, looked to be in mint condition. Took me back a few years to small desirable cars, much more agile.

The Turbo... what a car of its time!

your fwd tt handles similarly to your e46 m3? what was wrong with your m3 or what did you do the tt? the mk2 tt was a better offering in the 3.2Q variant and then of course the tt-s and very nimble and agile tt-rs. (IMO)

No, I'm talking about handling at less than 8/10ths here - all lightness and quick, accurate steering. Even my E92 M3 was a better handler than the tt at high dynamic levels.
