Did they not fuel up on that pit stop? Or just a tire change?

There will be always pit stops, unless FIA/F1 change the rules.
If F1 wants no pit stops, they can do that right now without a problem. HOwever, tires has to be harder compound (prime). Tire companies (besides reliability, less elastic to temp change prop to pressure) will try their best to find more stable softer compound to optimize the mechanical grip. |

Lol yeah I'm sure if they took fuel it would add another 1 second to the time while changing the tires!. Crazy how fast the pit stop is. 5 sec for tire change, 6 sec for tire and fuel. Amazing

Refueling has been banned in F1 since 2010, and current race cars have put in larger fuel tanks to accommodate this change.

Incredible, what 4 people could do in 1950, they now need 20 people to do...

Yeah- 20 guys vs 3 working on the car, plus no fueling. It was about 4 seconds, so 80 man seconds vs 260 in the old one. They did change all 4 tires though, but no gas or windshiled cleaning.

There were a lot more than 3 guys in the 1950s video. Most were just going about their business government style by hanging back and watching the 3 or 4 active ones. Occasionally actually doing something like getting a glass of water or a cloth. The lack of efficiency in the 1950 version is very apparent.

I'm sorry I forgot the smile
They do it in a fraction of the time as they also dont perform the same tasks. One is manhandeling a sledgehammer and the other one has an impact gun. So obviously there is a difference, but it's not in the people (except the number of people). It's in what they have and what they're allowed. I don't know if it's an improvement. It's a race and applies to everybody. Race regulations are just a bunch of rules to make things slower so that lesser teams can keep up or to keep things safe. Changing tyres at your local repair shop probably takes a lot longer, and there would be an advantage into speeding up (time=money)
