Not terrible, but the auto trans is the achilles heel of the car--should have been a dual clutch setup. And the car is completely rear bias until needed.

It wasn't a bad wagon. Reminded me of what a 335is would be in wagon form. I wanted this thing to be my answer to the RS4/6 Avants, but it isn't. This, coupled with the size (I know we were stupid) is what made me unload it.

Yeah, didn't mean to speak for him, I wasn't stating "facts". I was just referring to some of the standard concerns that we as enthusiasts might have. From a performance car standpoint, some of it's deficiencies seem obvious. That was all I was trying to say.

It gets fairly lukewarm reviews over here but I do like it.
My last car was a 335d "wagon." That was a very decent motor. But I wanted petrol and RWD so true current one wasn't an option.

I'm just happy there's a company out there still offering a sport-focused wagon. I'm driving a VW CC now so stepping to something like the Polestar would feel great. That said, I'll probably still opt for the T6 R AWD Platinum which can be had for <$450/mo, fully loaded, and will be more comfortable for the kids than the P*.

Oh, forgot the CLS63 AMG. I really really like this one. If I were in the market for a performance wagon I would have a hard time choosing between the CLS and RS6.

That is horrible. Like an R class and a CLS had a baby. RS6 over that thing all day.

Still not sold on the blacked out C/D pillar, but the old XFR wasn't bad either.

Yuck, not even close. RS6 all day, all 25 hours and eight days a week on that one.

They even made the CLA as a shooting brake. Went to my local MB dealer to check it out. It feels quite sporty but I'm afraid it's little bit too small for me.



But I agree, the RS6 is badass even though I'm not the biggest Audi fan out there.

The problem is, these uber wagons are all SO heavy. The C63 estate is 1800kgs, the RS6 is near two tonnes.

At least the 335i or 335d Touring are more like 1600kgs.

But they are too small, the 3 series and A4 based wagons are too damned small. The A6 plays in the 5 series arena so 200KG sounds about right.

The E-class have the biggest boot though, that car is huge.

I have the F31 and the size itself is rather perfect but when I'm loading it up with all my stuff for my boat I often tend to make the backseats flat. Loading it up with golf bags can be a bit tricky as well.

They may be heavy but damn if they're fast, especially the RS6 in a straight line with three kids in the back.

The thing that comes to mind with these wagons is "you can have your cake and eat it too", with massive cargo capacity, but sedan dynamics and performance. That's the attraction for me. I do a lot of active stuff, but I don't go off-roading all over the place, so an SUV, especially one that will be driven on the roads 99% of the time, makes no sense to me.

Big fan of high performance wagons. We actually have a stage 3 full RENNtech E63 S 4matic build..puts down about 850hp and 1000lbs of torque...just a monster and as someone stated, the E63 wagon is just rare to see.




Totally agree its a shame we miss out on such amazing wagons. If there is a business case for some of these low selling volume coupes, why not wagons? Not everyone wants a SUV!!!
