Question Question On Changing Oil On Older Car

i have a 02 toyota corolla as my commute car and have a question. im about 110k miles right now and ive been running non-synthetic engine oil. so my question is, would it be alright if i changed to a synthetic using the same weight which i believe is (5w-20)?

i also plan on chaning air filter to k&n for the hell of it.

thanks for help

It should be 5W-30. Only newer Hondas use 5W-20...

And as for your question, yes it's fine to change to synthetic.

^ thanks man. looking at my manual it says this for recommend oil:

Engine Oil Type:
API grade SJ
Energy Conserving/ILSAC multi-grade
SAE 5W-30

does this oil meet the above?
Amsoil Synthetic 5W-30 (ASL)
API SM/CF, SL, SJ ...
ILSAC GF-4, 3 ...

the energy conserving means nothing right?
