ODBii Bluetooth reader for VW?
Not sure this is the sub-forum (I know it's a BMW forum but I'm not registered on any VW sites)
Question: Do you guys have recommendations for a ODBii Bluetooth reader for Volkswagen? I need to see error codes and any other diagnostic information I can get out of the car. Its a 2010 VW Polo turbo D. I think the fuel pump ate it, sent metal everywhere in the fuel system, I know they replaced some stuff (FP + an injector) but still ongoing issues with car. |

I've used this cheap combo with BMW, Porsche and MB so I'm guessing it'll work for you:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...owl.torquefree http://www.amazon.com/iSaddle-Blueto.../dp/B00KLT3JVC I didn't bother with the software they ship with it because the torque app did fine. It's good for simple stuff.

Additionally, you know tons of information about current and future functionality. You're clearly working for them or receive compensation. Why do you deny that? Is it because you do not want to become a forum sponsor to post ads? Perhaps you think people will listen to you and buy it if "you're just another user or fan"?

I mean that Carbon part company really know what is all about, when it gets to carbon fiber technology. All I say is from my experience and is nothing but my honest oppinion! And yes, when you have a good quality product, that made me a happy costumer, why should I then keep my experience a secret? Why the heck, should I let the people pay 5 $ more for an Carly OBD2 adapter? Why the freaking super heck, should I keep silent? Since I ordered my Carly OBD2 reader, the dealership... plain and simple hates me. Before I was terrified seeing an CEL in my cluster, terrified when having to refill my oil...all that is gone...because of Carly and their OBD2 reader! A friend of mine almost bought an stolen car! Almost! Guess what saved his ass? Carly did! I had nothing but good experience with their costumer service and there developement team. They so to say really listen to your car related suggestions and I never seen such an work ethic and connection between a company and it's costumers! Many people on here sre in contact with Carly and share their thoughts with them, so am I. Just some food for thoughts: I don't know if it's possible to get an early rod bearing warning but I'll definately will pass informations to Carly and see if they can come up with an masterplan. Same goes to everyone else on here, anything you miss regarding your coding capabilities? Tell them, they will listen to you suggestion A real cool company See it that way: I have Information, I'm passing it---> everyones happy If you're not happy---> also good. |

thats a good bot.
Since I have IOS and can't use any of the Bluetooth adapters, I'm thinking of just using a generic wireless one and using dash commander or something to get the data I'm looking for. http://www.amazon.com/Foseal-Scanner...A1US1B6ID0WKIP |

Can fuck up your car, in no time. No life time guarantee, no costumer service. Anyhow at the very end it is your car and your decision. |

What would you use? If you look at the Carly and some of the more expensive models on Amazon and read the one star reviews, youll see you there lots of similar issues

Issues? I had none with them! They are specialized in car coding and are the best on the market. Iam not kidding you, its reslly an unbelievable tool that gives you sort of superman powers. Even if in the long eun your OBD adapter gets bad, you have a life time guarantee on all electrical conponents. Only a company with confidence would offer that. Just saw you are from Sofia Europe, that means you can directly order from their european site and use the Coupon code there. That means, go to ivini-tech.de knowledge yourself first and when you are ready to get one just type into their shopping cart the coupon code I've mentioned before, it'll work immidiately. http://www.ivini-tech.de/adapter/android-vw/ Last edited by vsix; 06-04-2016 at 01:48 AM.. |

If you want to see generic P codes you can just buy the cheapest elm327 based obd2 bluetooth dongle on ebay like this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ELM327-OBD2-...-/122002786278 And use torque or some free app. No need to spend extra money. programs like carly do some coding but that is more for the consumer (like playing around with wiper intervals, mirrors folding, lights that sort ofstuff), it's an amateurs' tool, not suited for the real mechanic. afaik it doesnt do anything extra for the engine compared to a generic cheap elm327 reader. If you want to do real diagnostics and coding like on for example a fuel distributor pump or match injectors, get a real encoder like VAG commander /VAG-COM (VCDS) or so. But most of these programs have a steep learning curve. You cant be a top mechanic in one day.

I have cable and esys for coding the BMW.
I was originally asking because I need to do some Volkswagen debugging and I've never done that before. Was hoping the cheap ODB/wireless would at least get me started. Plus if it could do some light monitoring of my BMW with dashcommander or something that would be nice. I want some nice baselines before I start modifying the car. |

It was the highest rated one on Amazon. So I hooked it up and sure enuf it started talking with my iPhone. So I ponied up $10 for dash that commander and I will have to say I'm very happy. capture everything I need. "B --58 for $400 please Alex" "How much boost does the B -- 58 run? " "what is 16 pounds?" "in-line sixes for $300 please" "What motor is considered the most indestructible in-line six ever built?" "What is the 2JZ-GTE?" "POS fords for $200 please" " what is the most bad a#^]*]# car ford ever made?" "what is a Ford GT with a 4 L whipper" "Correct" |
