There is always a (perhaps remote) possibility that someone is using the shift lever to manually shift an AT.

Some garbage.. anything can be made into an argument.. ever see someone slip their foot from the brake onto the gas or depress the gas instead of the brake pedal in an automatic car and slam into the car in front? I personally know of two cases..
1) Some kid was reaching out at In N out and slipped his foot off the brake and onto accelerator in his camry and slammed into the wall 2) My friend almost got smashed in-between a gramps cadillac and his G35 when he was walking in-between the two cars at a gas station trying to get back into his car. Gramps accidentally depressed the accelerator or slipped off brake as well Anyways Back to my unsafe manual I go |

I suppose in both of those cases if the drivers had been driving MTs they suddenly would have been transformed into safe drivers. Any car can be driven poorly. Ever see an MT driver roll back into the car behind while trying to start up a hill?

Lol no way, the automatic drivers in manual cars would probably fare worse, just wouldnt crash in those ways. Just saying the insurance claim was funny to me. I own both and I feel manuals are safer.. one more step between the accelerator and the wheels! Just disagreed and thought it was funny. That's all

Okay let's start with this...
On Line Driving Course..... 'nuff said.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

This reminds me of a joke one of my friends told me a long time ago. He said he would want a manual because it will equal out the leg strength between your right and left leg. He said if you were to be stuck in the desert with no geographical land marks to get your bearings, you can conceivably be walking in circles if you drove an automatic due to the right leg getting more use and being stronger.
