That’s interesting. My neighbor had had two looms, maybe even three replaced on their hrv’s due to this issue. Thanks for the link.

My metallic heat tape had Velcro closure which is why I like it - but I had seen evidence of a mouse climbing back in up under the engine cover but no wiring insulation issues.

peanut butter works really well too, and place the peanut butter UNDER the catch rather than on top of it. they're suckers for JIF.

I mean if you guys are suggesting baiting traps under the hood with pepperoni and peanut butter, I'd say let's just stuff a cat into that engine bay and be done with dat rodent problem

They were munching on mine also. I placed a poison Dcon bait trap inside the engine compartment. The next day a dead rat laying on the floor next to car

We've had problems with Evil Woodland Critters particularly with our Hondas. Apparently Honda uses a soy-based plastic that they enjoy. There is an ongoing class action lawsuit against Toyota for delicious wiring.

I didn't think that German cars had tasty wiring. Now I know.

Not just cars. Squirrels cause 10-20% of all power outages. And countless fires.

Is there any good way to attract feral cats?
