The catch is that it’s only for already-built vehicles. So, if you don't find the configuration you want in inventory, you can’t take advantage of the offer. The program wasn't mentioned on their website for some reason, but they did tweet about it. It runs through June 30th.

I think this will only make lines longer at superchargers, and most people charge at home anyway so it's not that great of a perk.

It’s the right move. With all the competing EVs here or almost here, and people like Porsche saying that their car will “beat Tesla in every key factor”, the supercharger network is the their one competitive advantage that no one is likely going to be able to match for awhile. At least in the us market.

So, it's like 0% financing on vehicles that are not selling well.

The major brands will most likely team up to build a fast charging network for US. BMW, Benz, VW Group, Ford have a joint venture building a charging network in Europe.

Call me skeptical but if it is on already built cars only then this means there is either too much inventory or there is a change coming to the cars soon that will make current ones less appealing.

Did you guys have a price drop in the US about 2 months ago? I know that here and in England the price dropped by about 20% on S and X overnight. I’m just trying to figure out if that is somehow related

Demand Lever

Just another way Tesla is trying to boost demand without doing an all out price cut. I got a text from a Tesla sales rep the other week reminding me that the Federal credit gets reduced next month.

They are likely just trying to boost the Q2 numbers at this point.
