Pagani C9 mule [Spied]
Believe it or not, the Pagani Zonda C12 debuted all the way back in 1999 at the Geneva Motor Show. Since its debut, the Zonda has undergone several changes — including a bump in its AMG-sourced V12 engine from 6.0L to 7.3L — but Pagani is preparing to give the supercar the biggest overhaul in its 10 year history.
Spy photographers have spotted a mule for all-new Pagani model. While it remains unclear if the new car will still wear the Zonda nameplate, we do know that it is being developed under the codename C9. The new car is being designed for the U.S. and Japan and should be ready for launch sometime in 2009. Because of high demand, Pagani will also boost production to 60 cars a year, up from its current annual production of 16 units. Just as AMG plans to go green in the coming years, the next-generation Pagani will also be just a bit greener. According to our sources, the new Pagani will ditch its V12 in favor of an AMG-built V8. Some rumors have even suggested that the next Zonda would use the same 5.4L supercharged mill used in the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. Whatever the case, the C9 will be powered by an AMG-sourced engine, thanks to a recently inked deal between the two companies.

Should be interesting. To be honest I never really fell in love with the looks of the Zonda. I think it has odd proportions.
