Thanks for posting. I hope it will give some perspective to those outside the medical world. A+++

I never knew the wage of a nurse until last year. I was shocked. For the type of care, dedication and stress that these nurses deal with daily, I'd expect much higher compensation. I'm lucky that all the nurses that my family have ever encountered loved their job and genuinely seemed like the kindest and caring people I've ever met.

People don't realize how hard these folks work. It takes a special person to be a nurse. Prayers for all them.

Quick story: when my daughter was born we had the most lovely nurses caring for us. When my daughter turned one my wife went back to the hospital with gifts for the nurses and I approached it with the " oh babe, they aren't going to remember you. They have too many patients and we aren't anything special to them. Do you know how many babies they deliver everyday?!" I couldn't have been more wrong. Two of the four nurses were still in the same department. The lady at the reception desk called for them and just said "you have visitors." They both came to the front, all smiles! My wife handed them a gift as a thank you and said "do you remember us?" One of the nurses said "yes! You're "name" and before she finished my wife's name, the other nurse chimed in with "and is this baby Lillian?!!!" They had remembered! That moment made me appreciate nurses so much more than I ever have.

Btw. We're not from some small town where everyone knows everyone. Seattle!

A very eye-opening video. Thanks for posting. I've shared it on FB in the hopes that more people will see it and appreciate the work and sacrifices of nurses, doctors and all of the support staff at hospitals everywhere. Thank you all.

This is what I do in NYC.
Been a ICU nurse in NYC Hospitals and was here from the start of covid. It was a complete disaster and one of the craziest things anyone in life could ever experience. It’s still really bad now too

Bay Area nurses clear a pretty solid 6-figures. Especially the travel nurses who just keep renewing their contracts here.

I knew wages were lower in lower cost of living areas but didn't realize the huge discrepancy till an ex told me about it and I was like ohhhhhhhhhh no wonder so many nurses come here even just for a few months.

You aren't being over paid!
I worked in an Emergency & Referral Group for animals, weekend night shift, some ICU & surgery but lots of isolation, and it was tough.
This is 100 times tougher.

great video, so much to take in. So much to say.

As a front line worker, i would agree with most if not all of what that nurse said.

It's all crazy to me, how people behaved throughout this entire 1 year ordeal. I watched a physician die last week in ICU, and people still to this very day who think covid is/was a hoax, and dont take it seriously.

fuck. you.
