If I wanted to laugh at politics, I'd just watch CNN or FOX.

I used to enjoy Johnny Carson. I haven't watched late night shows since he retired. Of course, Johnny has since passed away. I don't think there ever was a direct replacement for him, but that's fine.

This pretty much sums up my sentiments. I was never big on late night but used to watch Letterman or Conan occasionally. It's all crap these days. Politics mixed in with other humor is fine but that's seemed to give way to something else.

I liked it whenever there were animals on the set during the Johnny Carson show.

I am partial to this one, as I was in the studio audience that show. In the beginning of the show when Johnny first came out, when the audience had calmed down and it was quiet, I got off a loud "WOOOHOOOO". It made it on the show. My 2 seconds of fame.

Carson was the king of late night for sure.

Used to like Letterman until he became so political.

Then switched to Leno who was almost never political.

The new batch of hosts are terrible.

Fallon is political but tries to keep it lighthearted.

Colbert and Kimmel are hateful no talent hacks.

I've actually been watching Conan lately and he has improved. His overseas specials are pretty funny.

Nobody will ever top Craig Kilborn, though. Such a shame that he left the business.

I'd forgotten about Kilborn. I thought he was great. I'd like to see Craig Ferguson back too.
