BMW doesn't do supercars, so this isn't a really useful point. The standard AMG cars will be BEVs just like M cars.

Yes, but's nevertheless a pitty that the BMW M Next supercar presented by M was axed by the board. I still don't comprehend how MB is able to be in almost every niche and seems always a few steps ahead of BMW.

When you're the size that VW Group and Daimler are, you're able to take a bit of risk. BMW, despite its earned and soaring popularity in the last decade, is not close to those two.

Shut everyone down? Sorry, but I think the absolute opposite quite frankly. I personally could not care less about these multi-million hypercars that seem to be popping out every 5 months. It's absolutely irrelevant to me and literally the opposite of what I'm looking for.

Quite opposite, I think M quietly shut everyone down by releasing an M2/3/4 with a manual gearbox after the year 2020. While very different than the old M cars I own, I can at least see the link. If you write a list of manual cars available for under $100k, you'll find that it's depressingly short. I know it's not much longer before these cars are gone, but I for one am really looking forward to the last of these pure ICE vehicles.

This is not another "hypercar" that looks for niche approval. What this machine is a showcase of future of AMG in the most extreme manner, trickling down its class leading F1 technology. Something BMW used to do but not anymore.

And that is leading to a 4 cylinder PHEV on a C63 AMG. There's 0 doubt the performance will be there, but the sound, especially from a V8 will be a let down. Not to mention the increase in weight and complexity.

I'm sure some people will be happy, but I'll stick to my Fred Flintstone car with a lever in the center console. Regardless, I think the next battle of my favorite market (I still have such vivid memories of the time TG tested E92 M3 vs C63 vs RS4) is going to be so interesting.

If it meets DOT guidelines its a street car. If you want to drive on the street on your not is up to you.

If I could afford it I would drive it to on the street, track and anywhere else I possible no problem. Trip to Whole Foods or a track day at Sebring...
