Web Browser Question

I have used modzilla for a couple years now and I keep hearing about firefox and how it is so great. I know that they are made my the same company, but what is the difference between the 2? I have to replace my hard drive so I'm downloading all the software I will have to install. But I just want to know is one better then the other? How so?
