But yes...sadly we don't get it & yes, it is kind of a cool little car!
Maybe it makes sense in Japan, but not here, at least for now, according to the U.S. rules and regulations that govern that sort of thing (see my first link).

You're right though that sadly we don't get the Honda e. And according to Honda, we never will.

Most can be turned off but not with a button, deep menu diving then it resets itself when you turn the car off. Referencing my wife's 2019 SUV, the 2008 Saab just yells about seat belts and even then it gives you a few seconds to you know, put the fucking seat belt on, before it starts whining.

That just depends on the manufacturer. My 2022 Kia Sorento PHEV has a ton of safety features and they can be customized on/off in the driver profiles that you can select when you start the car.

Another cool tech feature that I enjoy is the full LCD instrument cluster, and a set of cameras mounted under the side mirrors. When you turn on the blinker the speedo or tach disappears and the camera feed shows up. I don't even use my mirrors anymore. The only downside is getting used to that and then getting in my M3. 😵
