The Truth about Pot Holes in CA
Guys, be very careful when you drive!!!! As it turns out the City of Los Angeles is not held responsible for any damages that may happen to your car in result to a pothole. I filed a claim in December 07 and they told me i will get a answer in October '08

I filed a claim against Los Angeles, because a water main had broken and created a 1 foot deep pothole...don't know if it's the same thing as 'normal' potholes, but I was paid by the city for custom wheels and tires within two weeks, no questions asked. Police came and took a report, which might have helped.

Your state/city government is responsible for the roads that you pay taxes to maintain. If they fail to provide a safe/undamaging driving experience in paved roads, you most likely have a claim.
