Appears to be locations dependent, they are charging $2,500-$4,300 for partial and upwards of $7,000-$10,000 for full her in San Francisco bay area.

For full ppf, around $5-6K for a smaller car and $6-7K for a larger sedan is common in So FL. SUVs can be closer to 10K. If you're a discerning customer and want a quality job with properly finished edges, few relief cuts, etc. It could cost 8K+ here for a sedan. We have lots of competition, but many of them are production shops that use plotter templates and don't take the time to do the artistry needed for a pristine finish. Most owners don't care enough for it to motivate the production shops to improve.

I have not heard nor actual seen, I got my car back on the 26th of July after getting the entire car PPF. I never had this issue on my X5 M50i, I had the entire vehicle in XPEL PPF. I have always been 110% satisfied with XPEL products (PPF, ceramic coating & tint) and I have never had any issues. If one is experiencing this, have them redo, since you have a 10 year warranty with XPEL.

Do you have Ultimate Plus or Ultimate Fusion? This one you mentioned Ultimate Plus the other one you mention Fusion. When did you get it put on the car because the Fusion infused PPF is fairly recent and definitely shouldn't have yellowed in under a year and I would definitely put a warranty claim in for it regardless of which PPF you have.

Look under Ultimate Fusion Signature Features. Hydrophobic Properties, Provides Protection and Improves Surface Clearity their descriptions are everything a Ceramic Coating does. Their Ultimate Plus is already Self-Healing.

Yes, I know the warranty is 10 years but I don't have time to get it done at the moment. Plus most likely end up with the similar results (based on my researches). If anyone have doubts about PPF yellowing (slight tint), find any white cars with PPF and see for yourself. I think it is more noticeable on my car because Alpine White is almost like Pure White. That being said, it is still worth it for me due to the shifty roads here in CA. |

Love the info! After looking at a few cars with the wraps in person and watching tons of comparison videos, I'm going with the XPEL Ultimate.
Essentially, the wrap is to protect the clear coat/paint, and I have every intention of maintaining exterior care on the vehicle, so the need for Hydrophobic properties are not of use to me as the vehicle is in the garage 99% of the time when not being driven. The self healing properties, works decently well, but not against major damage or dents, in which case it loses it's purpose. So the justification is essentially, "Do I want water beading included in the wrap or can I maintain the vehicle myself?" Answer was obvious. Will spend the other $3,000 on some parts instead. Thanks all for the input, much appreciated! |
