Yes, I noticed the gas cap too, I just figured there wasn't a proper cover installed. I hope they still make some version of a gas engine with all this talk))) |

Seriously though - and I sound like a broken record - why isn't BMW launching a model Y competitor even if it's a hybrid? The Y is the perfect size with incredible functionality. Also, where is BMW in negotiating with Tesla to use superchargers? |

Well, perhaps they will! And no clue on the charger situation, but I'm sure there is a plan! |

Agreed, seems too early to test the full M on public roads a year before the standard cars are launched. I also suspect there must be some upgrade to the B58 to move from M40 to M50 in the M performance range. Maybe a mild hybrid gen 2?

I would like an X3 M50i with V8, four pipes and air suspension. Suspect that I won't get it.

The M50i will be an upbadged B58 I6 with more power or w a hybrid combo.

If the new X3 M50 comes with options for better seats and my golf clubs fit in the back with the seat up, that could easily be my next move in a few years if I don’t keep my M550.

Rumors of a 60ish mile plug in hybrid option are showing up. This might get me out of my i4 at some point down the road. Might also be a sign of things to come on the X5 side for my wife down the road as well.

Is this what I saw?
If BMW releases a PHEV X3 and a BEV X3 in the US, Tesla share will take a hit. https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2059024 |

The hybrid will be a killer I assume. I looked at the new 5 series and was surprised that they no longer lose cargo space because of the battery. It is said to be placed under the car. So I'm sure this will be the case with the X3 as well. My only reason to run away from the current hybrid was the cargo space.
