Agreed. I also see E30 when I look at this; they just substitute the small chrome kidneys for a body color break in the middle. For a small SUV I think it looks quite good, far better than some other recent efforts.

Looks OK if it does actually look like that. Very similar to peugeot 508 concept and general design direction imo. OK you still have a nod to a kidney grille but either Peugeot or BMW are copying the others homework.

Honestly doesn’t look that bad, but I’m sure bimmer design team find a way to make more broken lines and strange surfaces to make it more out there.

My biggest worry about the next gen is that you wont be able to spec proper leather interiors anymore for stupid sustainable bs reasons. Other than that it looks promising.

A modern car is a modern car, KIA, Honda or BMW. But come on spare us the agony of comparing cheap cars to a premium. If you sat down in a KIA and thought you where sitting in a BMW i would be surprised unless you where both blind and paralyzed from the neck down.. Cry more, and keep dailydriving that 20year old car it will all be over soon.. 😂

This car will be a headturner, and the current gen x3 will look dated. Sadly.. 😄
There is no way you could mistake sitting in a KIA vs BMW. Unlike BMW, KIAs have comfortable seats.

as a long time user of BMWs, generally an upgraded model, sport seats, etc, nowhere in any Uber/Lyft or rented Kia did the seats ever come closer. I also live in Canada, with the average Kia desintegrating year 5, engine self destructing 100,000 kms (fire or metal parts) etc. Garbage, throw away. I knwo folks that have spent more on 3-4 KIAS than me on a topped up 3 series last decade.

With respects to the new design looks bold, nice, but, seems small range?

Speaking of seats… I’m almost through an Ottawa - Halifax work trip in a Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid. Man, this thing is not good in so many ways for long trips, ESPECIALLY the seats.

7-1/2 hours left to go tomorrow… Edmundston back to Ottawa where my ventilated comfort seats await my return.
