how will I know if it will come from South Carolina or South Africa? I'm in the US, but all of the recent 2024 X3 that I drove showed final assembly in South Africa on the window MSRP stickers.

is there a way to ensure that I get one made right here in the US?

I don’t think BMW will allow a dealer or consumer to specify country of assembly. Heck, if it did I’d put Germany, but unfortunately limited to US or SA for X3 ICE cars.

My guess is US plant will begin G45 production before SA plant, so likely early order assembly will be US.

That said, your dealer or BMW Genius should be able to confirm country of assembly for your order, and once the VIN is produced during the assembly process, this should also confirm assembly origin.

Looks like you are from Boston so it will come from South Carolina.

The South Africa cars have always had a different model code in the BMWNA system because they take a lot longer to arrive in US. Your dealer will know if the allocation is for a US vs. SA build.

my BMW dealer's remaining stock of five 2024 X3 are all made in South Africa, according to my BMW CA. He did say that the first batch of of G45 X3 would be unlikely from South Africa.
