I DRIVE 9 System in new X3 ICE?

Just hope that BMW has resolved & not carried over the issues/complaints mentioned within several threads about the U10/U11 (X1 & X2) to the new 2025 X3. Apparently the ID9 is a nightmare

Yeah, I've read about a lot of those issues over in the X1 forums. Granted I've only had mine a little under a week now but so far so good (*fingers crossed*). iDrive 9 has been nice and responsive, IMO. Slightly prefer it over the iDrive 8 in my M2.

It is a nightmare. Honestly at this point I just threw the towel. I´m really impressed how a company like BMW can pay so little attention to their car´s software. It carries the worst since iD7 and added tons of new problems.

Unless they change completely who is in charge of software and everyone around, this will go on forever. They just don´t get it.

I’m a first time BMW owner. In December late 2023 I picked up my 2024 x1 28i. At that time I believe I was among a handful at my dealer to get the 2024 what went into production in November. It replaced a 10 year old Mazda 3 that had just about 31,000 miles. I had been considering the new 2025 X3 to replace my 2019 Acura RDX Advance that has 32k on it.

However, after hearing the 2025 X3 comes with the ID9 & not loving the photos I’ve seen, I’m not impressed with the new design inside nor out. Besides from the ID9 issues I’ve experienced in my X1, the interior of the X3 looks to gimmicky (with all the lights) even more than the X1 & more of it.
One thing for certain is, that if I do decide to keep the X3 on my possibly list, the dealer would need to let me drive it for several days to truly experience the nuances & issues. When it comes to BMW, I’m past making a decision after just a short test drive.

2 things:

1) My understanding is that the G45 is the first BMW w/ID9 that also has the iDrive rotary controller! This makes a huge difference in my mind and will make it 99% more useable compared to your "controller-less" X1!

2) Your MY19 RDX is part of a generation that is known to have an exploding moonroof issue primarily caused by temperature shifts. There is no fix for this and Acura is only replacing in kind (even the slight refresh MY25 RDX maintains the same design). This is the most likely reason the G45 pano roof is fixed! This happened to a MY24:

I'm not saying you have to replace the RDX w/a BMW. I'm saying you may want to get rid of the car before winter comes!
