[Pics] Vegas Red M50

I saw this at a local dealer and I think this is my favorite color for the M50. IMO, the exterior looks great and very aggressive and wide in the rear. I'm still not excited about the interior but it is growing on me. I think I prefer the Alcantera seats.

This is another car being sold in the NY/NJ/CT area of the US with 21 inch wheels and summer tires. We get snow in the area and I don't understand why they keep ordering cars on 21" wheels with summer tires.

That dealer has assessed the local market and concluded that their buyers are more likely to value form than function.

Vegas Red is also my favorite and would be a first choice.

I don't know the ordering process for the US, but in Germany the cars are allways sold with summer tires and a complete second set of winter wheels needs to be ordered seperately.

You can't order on winter tires without ordering the summer wheels.

Usually the dealer will put the winter wheels on the car and put the summer wheels in the trunk when handing over the car to the customer.

Vegas/Fire red is one of the better options imo. BMW seemed to switch from using Dune on the M50 at launch to this red for car press test drives. Possibly based on feedback.

It’s hard to tell from the photo, but is that piping at the edges of the lighter grey seat material ? Just looks a bit odd and I wasn’t sure if it’s the camera.

They typically feature different colors at different press events. All the reviews of the Vegas red were the same car at the same location.

Right now they are giving a yellow m5 to the press. In a month or two it will be a different color.

Thanks, but I’ll draw my own conclusions.

Four review videos I’ve seen recently, and I think they had more than one car, unless they changed the plates.

I love Vegas Red but felt it would draw too much attention to my excessive speed ;o) It does flatter the new X3's shape IMO. Honestly have not seen that many red BMW's on the road probably for the same reason. 21" have always been fitted with summer performance tires. Are there no max performance all seasons that would fit the bill ?

Have a set of custom 21” Vossen wheels coming this week. Will be putting Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4s on ‘em.

That’s cool. How do they compare to the Good years in terms of ride quality and road noise ?

Dunno. Never run them before but have read very good things about them from a number of places.

I don't know either. I have summer's on my X5M and they are awful in the late fall/winter. When I had my Lexus I would only drive the X5 on days when the temp was in the 40s or high just to give it a run through. Once the Lexus was gone, I ordered the winter set and it makes such a difference. It's expensive and a pain in the butt to swap out for the season but makes a huge difference.

When I ordered my x3 all I cared about was having an all season tire and a spare. lol

Nice contrast and realy strong bold color for the M50.

Like to see one with the 20" wheels as my impression on the car was, that the 21" are too big when I saw it in person. I rely liked the 21" wheels on the G01, but on the G45 I would prefer the 20".

Ordered my M50 in Tanzanite blue fully loaded, but also with the 20".

And good to see you got yourself a personal detailing apprentice
