So "cubing" is just a more modern and more expensive way of doing prototyping. Big whoop dee do. Car manufacturers have been prototyping since the dawn of time. Fit and finish isn't everything when it comes to quality. You could have terrific fit and finish, and still have a vehicle that doesn't function right or has very poor reliability. Fit and finish is only one variable that goes into building a good "quality" vehicle.

Besides, today's CAD programs are so sophisticated, they can analyze fit and finish, by entering all the max-min tolerances. They'll analyze worst case scenarios for unintended tolerance stack-up.
