Hidden exhausts 2025 X3 M50 at dealer
Test drive the new 2025 X3 M50. Noticed the hidden exhaust and a 30i window sticker inside…Engine started quietly.. The salesperson was not interested in figuring out the situation. Weird lol.

That's obviously not the M Performance model (M50). It's the xDrive30 with the M Sport package. Aside from what you already mentioned (no quad pipes), there are other telltale signs at a quick glance:
- diagonal & vertical front grille pattern (and no M badge) instead of horizontal slats - no red 12 o' clock marker on the steering wheel - no M mirror caps Presumably there will be lots of obvious signs too in the interior, e.g. no piano black on the front door arm rests, no M tricolor stitching on the steering wheel. Could have been a factory mistake, maybe? But it's super shady if the salesperson wasn't willing to talk about it. Though I can't imagine how a BMW dealership would think they'd get away with fake badging on a brand new car... Last edited by MidnightLight; 11-09-2024 at 03:44 AM.. |

Any updates on this because that is poor in any car sales and should be reported. I would expect something like that from Arthur Daleys car lot.
Even Del'boy would say that was hooky. |

Looks like they used the wrong bumper from the factory.
I ordered X7 a few years ago with the tow package and the factory put the wrong rear bumper on, covering the tow hitch. These things happen, but they don’t inspire confidence when they do. |

I would guess the guy with the badges at the end of the assembly line had some fun on the weekend and this is a Monday build |

There are several other things that aren't appropriate for M50 so quite sure this is a base X3.

It looks like the wrong badge on the back. It should be a 30. No exhaust, the grill is wrong, no red mark on the steering wheel and the mirror are wrong.

Looks like they put wrong model badge on the back. The BMW rondel on this X3M I test drove awhile ago had blue i rondel.

It’s probably the owners own doing. What’s funny is they’re apparently willing to pay $3500 to look cool with the frost paint, but they’re not willing to pay the approx $10K upcharge for the 6 cylinder engine. More concerned about looks than function.

The OP said this was a test drive car at a dealership. Which is way shadier than just an owner putting on fake badges.
