Idrive glitches?
Anyone else having frequent glitches with idrive? Almost every time I turn the car on I’m noticing different settings that I never had saved or recently used. The most noticeable so far is ambient lighting (interaction bar) keeps changing from my default color, different map apps keep popping up in car play that I wasn’t using when I start the car, and the most annoying is when I use the scroll button on my steering wheel to view my Sirius favorites and it’s blank (attached pic). That happens pretty much daily and in order to get my favorites to show up I have to toggle over to select another media source and then go back into Sirius favorites. I had some other issues with favorites the other day where I’d select a station with the button on my steering wheel and a completely different station would play. So far I’m able to find fixes or just reboot the system but it’s so frequent that it’s just getting aggravating now.

I have the 2024 x1 28i with the ID9 & have experienced the scrolling issue as well. Sometimes it self corrects after a few miles. I’ve also noticed that sometimes if I manually change channels through the center screen arrows, it will show up.
The other issues you mentioned might be a result to the Glitches of the ID9 system X1 & X2 (U11/U10) drivers have been discussing in their forum. Have you tried to “HARD” RESET the system? It might help get rid of the glitches? 🤞 Last edited by markronnie; 11-19-2024 at 07:19 AM.. |

By hard reset do you mean just holding down the volume wheel until the system resets? That’s how I’ve been resetting everything and it works temporarily. I’d say almost every other time I start up the vehicle something is funky with the idrive. I’m about ready to take it in and get it checked out. |

WHEN GLITCH OCCURS BMW SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME TO DO A “HARD RESET”
I would assume on X3 it is done the same way as in X1 with ID9. * START CAR & LEAVE IN PARK * THEN PUSH & HOLDING DOWN THE CYLINDER VOLUME CONTROL ON CENTER CONSOLE UNTIL THE SCREEN CYCLES OFF & ON 2-3 TIMES. You should see a bunch of moving lines on the screen cycle off & on 2-3 times. This should take about 1 minute. If you only press the volumn button a short time or release early, it will be a “SOFT” Reset & may not fix issue(s) Good luck 🍀 |
