Is this noise related to the struts?
creak noise watch this short clip to see the noise I’m talking about
I drive a 2010 e60 and this problem has been occurring only during the colder months or 1st start after a cold night. I think it may have something to do with the strut/strut mounts but I’m not 100% sure and don’t wanna experiment with like $450 in parts and my time to install them unless I know it’s the cause. Please let me know if any of you know what it is or have experienced this before. |

Off hand the noise could come from the cold tires being turned on cold pavement.
With some sports cars even backing the car out of a parking space with the steering wheel at full lock can produce noise and some vibration in the steering wheel. Clank noise over bumps though suggests a worn/loose steering hardware/suspension hardware. Best advice I can offer is book the vehicle in and have a professional tech check the vehicle for any loose/worn hardware. |
