I think more recently BMW marketing has started to employ politicians, and I’m vary wary about what it claims.

I seem to recall the G45 being pitched as a more luxury oriented product during late development, when model range info was released, but if anything, it’s the opposite.

The original group press releases was more specific -

Well Here’s hoping the front side windows are acoustic glazed for the Uk release… highly doubtful.. but fingers crossed!

Anyone who's already seen European vehicle checked if it has acoustic glass? Its so strange that none of the reviewers mentioned it.

Most reviews don’t even know the detailed spec of the car, let alone comment if something is missing. It isn’t helped that most are press cars, so time is short.

I’ll be at my local BMW during the next few weeks, so will take a look myself if there’s a car available.

Acoustic glass isn’t listed on the Uk build spec order sheet, like it was for my G01

What is the most noticeable difference between acoustic and none acoustic glass? The general road noise or wind noise?

Both according to BMW, and that’s accurate based on my experience.

I find the interior quiet at motorway speed, and I’m running on 21” RFT with M mirrors.

I've test driven x3 today in the UK and can confirm there is no acoustic glass fitted. Its a single glass but fairly thick (thicker than double glass in g01).
Car is fairly quiet and interior has no rattles, but that said, I dont really like it.
Cost cutting is sooo obvious everywhere - even boot floor has more coarse/cheap feeling material. Cargo cover material is laughable - its made of the same super thin fabric thats used on the underside of sofas...
Dashboard looks better in person, but there is too much plastic for me.

I came to a similar conclusion re the cost cutting, and it’s so in your face. It really doesn’t matter how well it drives, it’s just too much of a compromise for me.

It’s sad, but I think EV politics is decimating the traditional premium car makers.

Have you personally seen it yet?

For me it wasn't that bad that I would step away from the purchase. Actually I realy like the fresh new exterior and interior design. Yes some nicer doorhandles and classic buttons on the doorpanel instead of the touch area would have been much nicer but I barely use these buttons on my current X3 G01.

But I agree with you on the EV politics. Best example is Jaguars new image they presented this week. If you ask me personally, I would bet they are dead soon. Dismantled themself with this strange move to total wokeness, diversity and LGBTQ+ etc.

Yup, the Jaguar thing is crazy, and virtue signaling wokeness is killing us.

To be honest I’ve only seen the M50 left hand drive pre production close up that BMW was using at events. It was also in a colour I don’t like, which probably didn’t help.

I could probably manage to live with the exterior look in the right colour, but the interior materials are just not to my taste. I also have this nagging doubt that BMW cost cutting is more than skin deep.

I guess it’s all personal choice and needs. I liked the G01 exterior but it has been there for too long and got bored of it. Hence I feel G45 M50 is a better looking car. Interior I agree is a let down but not a deal breaker for me. I can live with plastic handles, buttons and the disco lights. In the long run, I hope eventually I will get used it and will not notice it. Removing the comfort acces from rear door was a bad one though. For me how it drives matters. Comfort when I drive with family and sportiness when I drive alone is the most important thing for me. The speakers are much better than G01 too. I don’t believe there is a perfect car and you have to make sacrifices based on what is important for you.

And btw all of the reviews and owner feedback’s has said the car is quieter. So I don’t thing missing acoustic glass is a deal breaker. If you can achieve a similar performance without a costly component it good for manufacturer and not a big loss for the customer.
