Panoramic glass roof, any experience so far?

Hi, I've opted for a panoramic glass roof on my M50 and since the car production date is 03/25 I still have time to change some options.

Although it looks great, the interior seems larger and roomier, I have some concerns:
1. cabin temperature on hot summer days will probably be higher even with shades completely on
2. how much weight does it add compared to the regular roof? I can't find this info
3. safety issue in case of an accident

What are your thoughts, any experience so far (hopefully not with point no 3.) ?

thnx

So weird that bmw manufactures most of the X models in USA but they don't offer certain features in the USA. My wife could care less about the glass roof. She never opens the cover. I like it though. Makes interior feel larger and it's tinted pretty decently so the sun is muted. But, we have only owned it for a couple weeks. Not sure how it will be in the summer open.

I leave the shade open 100% of the time for my pano glass roof. Heat wise, it's been quite tolerable so far here in the northern California fall weather. I haven't felt bothered at all sitting in the driver's seat. But my wife sitting in the back has reported feeling a little uncomfortable when there's constant direct sunlight.

I'm now in the process of getting heat rejection ceramic film installed on all my windows, including the pano roof. Hopefully that mitigates the heat concern sufficiently.

Consider getting a clear value on the windshield, assuming your film has UV filtering properties, such as Xpel Nano Ceramic. Our ophthalmologist recommeded it highly to help slow down cataract formation. It's so clear, that it is essentially undetectable, but does provide eye protection. We also notice the improvement in heat rejection, but we're in a very hot summer climate.

It can only be one or the other. This ("available") seems to indicate it's an option as part of the Premium Package.

I opted for most of the additional features for my M50 but I didn't order the panoramic glass roof.

A friend of mine had a stone thrown up by a truck hit his full glass roof on the highway. The whole roof shattered into pieces and he had a convertible within seconds.

I know this is a quite rare incident but on my G01 I also have my glass roof closed most of the time. I also close the shade on hot and cold days. I could easyly skip the glass roof option as well as the textile dashboard.

I don't have it on my current G01, but my kids are looking forward to this option as for them this is probably the most important feature of our next family all-rounder

Can someone confirm if the luggage compartment separating net is standard on M50 with pano roof?
