I was on the phone for over an hour with the BMW genius about why my wife ( driver #1- her car) phone is not selected if I have my phone as passenger also. She should always come up as a priority selection as driver 1 not me. Genius finally came back after he consult his tech group and said the problem is both phones are present. There is no way to select my wife’s phone over mine. Anybody has a solution save don’t bring the second phone. If my wife has the key and I don’t shouldn’t she be selected for all functions including her phone?
Suggestions as this is dumb on the part of BMW and not the first thing we have had to solve with OS 9. I have a 2025 x5 50 e as my personal vehicle and OS 8.5 has been great. David |

My guess would be that your phone was paired last and therefore has higher priority. Try unpairing your wife’s phone and pairing it again to see if it will prioritize her phone. This won’t fix the problem if you’re driving with her as a passenger though.

Go to mobile devices.
Then turn off all sliders under your phone. The car will now connect to your wife’s phone and it will ignore your phone. Enable your sliders when you want to use your phone with the car. |
