Chrysler Shuts Down All Plants for A Month
I don't have a link yet, just saw it on CNN. GM is also idling a lot of plants as well.
Part of me wonders if this is a strongarm tactic to get money from Washington. |

Companies almost always have shutdowns planned to perform various maintenance and other tasks that need to be completed while the machines are off. However, this is probably more of a were really running out of money sort of thing.

Last week I picked up a new 535 in Munich and both BMW and Mercedes have shutdown their plants in Germany until mid January. It sucked as I wanted to take a plant tour as part of my ED adventure.

For years the consumer has seen and grown accustom to year end close outs because of over producing cars.
