hey everyone,

My Girl is looking for a new vehicle. She basically wants to stay with only new small suvs and wants to keep it 20 grand or under and it must have either 4x4 or AWD Her parents really like the Kia Sportage because its cheap and has a 4k incentive on it right now. I dont really like the idea of her driving something that i believe is junky and not safe. I found a few used 08 Hyundai Santa Fe's with about 10 thousand miles for about 18,500.

I'd appreciate any input. thanks everyone

Who said it was junky and not safe ?? The Kia Sportage isn't as good as my bimmer, but I wouldn't be ashamed to own one.

please don't buy those cars for that much money...they are decent cars but don't take the hit for resale on them. I say pick up the element,rav4, crv, impreza,forester, or if mpg doesn't matter used FJ!! the only time you buy a kia/hyundai is either you are a Korean patriot, don't care about resale, or your credit sucks(as they usually qualify anyone). otherwise pick up one of the listed above and know your car is still worth something after driving off the dealer lot.

not saying that the cars are bad, but they have a long ways to go before the company makes a name for themselves
