Creepy is right, mostly because the thing is quite 'organic' in its motion, the appearance and sound of the buzzing engines reminded me of the various "Fly" movies, which, also had a bit of a creepy quotient.

Yes makes you wonder how far fetched the Terminator movies are. All that needs to happen is for computers to gain "self awareness", then "self preservation" will surely follow.
That's when things start to get really frightening.

With this video one thing comes to mind METAL GEAR SOLID....Especially when the end of the film said "with funding from the Defense Advanced Reseach Project Agency(DARPA)" imagine a real life metal gear? not too far off IMO

The ability to balance was pretty damn impressive. It looked like some of the sensors still needed some tweaking, but that's by far the most capable walking robot I've ever seen.

Had a long conversation with one of my buddies that builds robots for the US Dept. of Defense. He told me that the DOD had ordered templates for "Big Dog" and that their mission was to further develop BD with artificial intelligence so that a soldier in the field could load a heavy pack, food, ammunition and additional weapons then command (among others) "Follow me" and it would go where ever the soldier went.
