Iron Man!
Wow can't believe no one has yet to start a thread about this new movie! Well I will give my opinion and very few details so as not to ruin anything. Up there with IMO the best superhero movie, Batman Begins, but just a hair under it. Robert Downey Jr. was perfect. If anyone else would have played Tony Stark/Iron Man it probably would not have taken in over 100 million dollars on opening weekend.
If you have the extra 5-7 minutes stay past the credits, all of the credits. Movie was well worth the $20 I spent seeing it twice this weekend. |

damn... didn't stay through all of the credits.
I didn't know anything about IronMan before the movie; never read the comics or watched the cartoons. Absolutely loved the movie. Can hardly wait for the next episode.

I have to agree, one of the best superhero movies. Robert Downing Jr. needed a comeback and boy did he more than do so. And yes, a little bit extra after all the credits.

Really good movie.. I agree.
Jeff Bridges (Obadiah) also played a great part - for a change. He looked so different with the Mr Clean look. Was nice to see him and Robert Downey Jr. making a big comeback. Disappointment was Paltrow. I had heard she played a great part, but I thought she was only okay. |

I saw the movie Sunday and will go back to see it again...and again...and again...maybe six times just so I can get a few things straight. And then I'll buy the DVD in BluRay.
This movie will make $600 million dollars from the release, the dvd and the toys. And the sequels will do as well...at least four for sure. Robert Downey & Paltrow haved hit the motherload! Call

Very good, not great.
Tim Burton set an impossible standard for superhero movies with the first Batman movie, in terms of both depth of character, plot. Even the action sequences were a level of imagination and complexity that were nothing short of brilliant. Everything that followed has been a dull reflection. Iron Man was above the average. And everything else in the theater this weekend SUCKS.

yeah it WAS fantastic! Probably the best MARVEL movie to date...mostly because they have all controlling rights now that their movies are being made by their own studios. Cast was excellent and it was great to see Robert Downey Jr do as well as he did! Saw it twice this weekend and will prob catch it a third time (and yes...the after credits stuff is great...esp for the comics fans. I'm not sure the casual movie goer will really understand, appreciate, or even care about what they do...but those of us "in the know"...well....awesome! haha)

I thought it was the 2nd best of the superhero movies, edging out Transformers. Beaten out by Batman Begins with Christian Bale. That movie had everything going for it. Even the music was spot on. Made me want to put a cape on. Ofcourse this is all my opinion. |

I don't think Transformers was remotely good, It was just all shiny with all the changing from one thing to robot. Everything else was sub par, I think they just played on the part where people got to see their childhood cartoon come to life and that was it.

I saw Ironman this weekend with my Nephew and we both liked it a lot. I've never been a comic book reader but I do like a lot of these comic book based movies that have come out over the last 8-10 years. I'm really looking forward to a sequel to to this one. For me the second movie in both the X-Men and Spiderman franchises were the best, so hopefully that trend continues with Ironman and the sequel is a step above the original. (unfortunately, in both franchises, #3 kind of sucked)
One minor gripe... When he fired that hand weapon for the first time while not wearing the suit and it didn't knock him on his ass I rolled my eyes a little. I mean come on it's basic 3rd grade science that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. I know the laws of physics don't always apply in these types of movies, but since this one was suppose to be based on science and not super powers I was a little disappointed. I can understand it not having an effect while he's wearing the suit, since it could conceivably weigh enough to keep him stable. But when all he was wearing was the glove the force should have and least caused him to stumble backwards a little. Dan |

I absolutely loved the movie. I would recommend to ANYONE who is even remotely into actions movies. I loved the way they showed how is Iron Man suit was developed. And you can't forget about the Audi R8 ;-)
Can't wait for the sequel.

He did have a reaction with just the glove on. His arm flew back the first time, and the following times he stabalized himself a little more, but still got nudged back slightly. But then again, I've only seen it once, will probably get to see it again soon.
