how many people are really gonna spend that much money on it? i mean i rarely see E90's with Mtech kits which are around 2k painted...

Actually...more people might be willing to do it if it's all rolled into their finance/lease from the start.

Some people (ie older people who have money but don't know how to use the internet) can't be bothered to:

A) go onto a online forums and figure what is out there
B) order stuff from online and have it shipped
C) find out a local body shop that can paint and install said kit.

So essentially people who say "oooh that looks cool" but aren't real fanatics like the rest of us.
