pretty predictable though...i wouldn't have expected a GTO to pass a mildly modified R33 GTR anywhere other than on a straight-away, twin turbo or not. got any specs on either car?

Well notice the GTO staying right with the Skyline in the corners... It's not like the GTR smoked it in the turns it was just even until there was an open shot for the GTO to say PEACE OUT MUFUCKAAAA

That GTO is an STS Twin Turbo GTO. My guess is no less than 600-800whp.

eh, no big deal. a stock or even lightly tuned r33 is just as fast or a little faster than the g37s and 335i of today. its hard to say what kind of r33 this is and what the mods are. anything less than a v spec and im sure even an s2k can hang with it. the base gtr was rwd, 2.6L I6, probably less than 280hp. v spec gave it 4wd, v spec N1 gave it more power and less weight, and the super rare 400R is the one that should be feared.

whoever imported that r33 probably got the plain jane one or a regular v spec.

You can buy a skyline, that isn't the hard part. The hard part is getting it legalized... if it is a track only car it's a reasonable process.

yah i read somewhere importing gtrs after 96 is prohibitively difficult, if not impossible. there was that one crooked importer...but then again i would think the only gtr worth importing would be the rare ones (there were only about 50 r33 400R made and 400 of the autech 4 door versions). most r33 are eh even though i like their looks the best.

Oh sorry, i only knew them before as Ugly Cars that only a mother could love. About the overestimation part, i once saw a Toyota MR2/Ferrari 355 and thought it was very fast.
