However at the end of the show this was shown to be an elaborate joke. Schumacher was also credited as the Special Guest of the episode, separately to 'The Stig'."

Just a BBC marketing ploy & gimmick to grab headlines for the new series no doubt.

Funny though... Schumacher is definitely not made for TV!

Schumacher owns the black FXX that just blistered the Top Gear test track. It makes sense that he was driving it, but it doesn't really prove who the Stig is the rest of the time. The BBC has stated in the past that the Stig isn't just one person.

I'll admit one thing; TG has done a crazy job of keeping a lid on who the Stig is. Some people have suggested that the Stig might be Damon Hill and others have even gone as far as saying it might be Lewis Hamilton. Lewis Hamilton is pretty farfetched.
