GEICO quoted me $805/6 mos for insurance. The next lowest one is $900. All other major insurers want $4000+. This is for (2) early 30s drivers with (1) speeding ticket three years ago, insuring an E90 M3 with 5000 miles/yr.
The choice is clear.

I've been using them for a little over a year now. The rate was the best I could find, and the website is easy to use. I can't comment on how good they are during a claim, because I haven't had to make one so far, but no complaints here.

This is a common response from any person that is not insured with Geico. It seems they customer service to the outside is not so great. That being said, I have Geico, and really like them. Rate are good and I have not have any problems with service.

Been with Geico long before I had a BMW, rates are one of the lowest I've seen, website is user friendly and get a response/email confirmation with a reasonable time frame. Their 800 number for their claims are good, but their claim's reps who evaluate the damages are a different story. It takes over a week for them to see the vehicle/damages and trying to contact some of them is like pulling teeth. Never had that issue when I was with AAA, but then again I was paying more. Maybe we do get what we pay for.

Geico is one of the lowest rated companies in the industry for claims/service/payment practices, along with Progressive & Farmers. Check the NATA Insurers Report Card. You want State Farm, USAA, or another consistently high-rated company.

Price isn't all you want to look for. I've been in the industry for years.

I've been a GEICO customer for about 6 years now. Have had one major claim (no-fault) and two minor windshield claims and my experience has been perfect. I am extremely happy with their customer service and prices.

Been with them for ages. No real complaints.

I have been seeing a media blitz on TV for 21st Century. The ad "says" they will be lower than Geico.....may call them just to see. Never heard of them though.

Yesterday I went into State Farm to finalize my homeowners insurance for a condo I'm buying, and let them quote the car while I was there. Even with the multi-line discount they were about $70/year more expensive than Geico. I had the guy print the quote and I'm going to compare the coverage to make sure it's apples to apples, but I'm pretty sure it is.

^ Because you are ridding on mom and dads binder/policy maybe?

It's a bit different when the vehicle(s) is actually in your name/banks if a lease.

I've been with Erie Insurance (PA only) since I started driving and they are by far the lowest priced. When I moved to the area I'm in now, my price doubled (geography is the only reason). I got pissed off and called 5 different companies. All of them were more expensive than Erie for me and my wife. Cheapest was Geico, but they were still $200 more/year.
YMMV - a coworker of mine that recently moved to the US from Canada got a quote from my insurance agent on a G35 and it was cheaper than what her boyfriend was paying with Nationwide (he'd been with them for years). He called my agent up for a quote on his car and it was half of what he was paying! He switched.
Over the years, I've had a couple claims and never had an issue with them paying. I would have a check in under 1 week.

I have USAA and they are definitely a good 10 - 15 % cheaper then GEICO. I used to have GEICO but for a US Military member in Germany USAA is the best rate going.

I pay about $540/6 mos. with Mercury. Pretty much every insurance company has online quotes nowadays and you'll get much more reliable information by actually spending an hour getting online quotes than you will by asking people

I have never had a ticket or accident in 20+ years of having a drivers license.

I had both my home and autos with State Farm forever.. when the economy went south I called around to a number of places to try to save here and there.

Geico was almost half the price of State Farm.needless to say I kept the house with State Farm and switched the auto

Agree 100% Price = awesome, customer service = awesome, claims adjuster = crooks.....but just escalate through customer service and they get the adjuster in line quick-like.
