I came across this wine today at work and thought......there is something about the name of that vineyard I like.


For my wine people.....its actually a good bottle of wine....i don't care for whites to much...but this wasn't bad.....good acidity with balanced fruit......and a slight creaminess.......I'm going to try another bottle tomorrow.....the 2002 scored 91 points (i forget who).....but not bad for just under $30.

I may try it, but I'm more a fan of desert wines, like a Moscato d'Asti, or Lambrusco. =)

if you like desert wines, and in keeping with the appreciation of german goods of this forum, you should try a good german eiswein. it will be a lot sweeter than a moscato d'asti or lambrusco but some are amazingly good. they can be expensive and come in small bottles, and some can be syrupy, but a good one can be an amazingly complex and enjoyable experience.

there is only so much of a desert wine i can take....but in small quanties there great.....but if looking at german wines....there are a lot of great reaslings out now that aren't that expensive

for the chard above....i usually dont like white wines...but i was very impressed with this chard....i just order last of the 2002 vintage.....the 02 scored 91 points as did the 03. Plus the 04 vintage is like #94 in wine spectator top 100 list this year.

Only red "frizzante" for me - Gutturnio: Il Gutturnio è certamente il re dei vini piacentini, quello più diffuso sulle tavole piacentine, ma anche quello che più di tutti si sta facendo conoscere al di fuori dell'ambito locale. E' un vino rosso, di corpo, con tannini in evidenza, un vino dal carattere spiccato e deciso, espressione di una cultura e di un territorio.

Nebbiolo is another favorite...these grapes go back to the times of the Romans...

lol both the 2002 and 2003 scored well 90+ points, with the 2004 making it into Wine Spectator's Top 100 list this year.......i can't wait for the M5!

i love italian wines...and yea nebbiolo is great.....Tiganelo and Oreno are my two current favorites....the only thing that sucks is that italian wines are better with a meal and i dont usually have wine food all the time..... i drink more than i eat.....
