Vette vs s2000
Just curious since I've never driven any of these cars but what would be more fun to drive around in the city? I mean sure the vette is a hellofacar but like smaller more agile cars have that fun factor in driving i.e e46 m3 vs a e9x 335i. Sure the 335i is faster but the e46 has that fun factor around corners and whatnot. Opinions? btw think of the s2000 as moderately modded.

It feels like a Honda Fit below 5k RPM, and even at WOT it's not all that fast...but boy, it feels like a go cart when you corner it. |

Which is the faster of the two? Street/Track/Anywhere?
The Corvette. I have had plenty of seat time in both, C5, C5z, C6, s2000's etc. While I love the s2000 what is offered by the Corvette is unmatched and this shouldn't even be up for debate. There are key factors however that will dictate what car I'd suggest. If your budget is $15,000 or less I would suggest the s2000: Why? You will get a much better s2000 for that price than you would a C5... If your budget is $25+k then hands down the Corvette, C5 or C6 it does not matter. The interior isn't on par with the s2000 but the performance straight up blows it away. The Corvette is wider and feels it, but is not any less nimble. I believe a stock s2000 hit .92g on a 600ft skid pad while a C6 hit .95g and a C6 hit .97g. Performance: C5 or C6 wins, hands down Fun factor: Ummm subjective, they both do certain things very well. The most well rounded however is the Corvette. Drive both and THEN decide that is the only way. You'd be foolish not to. The end.

^ Yeah Im REALLY thinking about getting a Z06. If my Z4 craps out on me again (Just blew $3k on stupid little repairs) then Im trading it in for a Z06.
For modding, yes a very small chunk of change gets you fantastic performance figures. MUCH more then with an S2k. I've seen SC'ed S2k's and their useless below 7k rpm. No thanks.

S2000 is a jewel of a car. Beautiful engine and tranny mated with a sublime chassis. Still, the Corvette will blow it away if all you care for is power and speed. I'll take my S2000 in silver thanks!!

If you feel driving a Corvette rivals that of a bat mobile I think you just suck at driving.

I'm not going to give an opinion on the cars since I own an s2k and have never driven a Vette, but a lightly modded s2k will have little to no performance gain over stock. You really have to go with boost to get anything out of the car. Honda got pretty much every last ounce of power out of it. You can spend over $3000 on IHE and you will get MAYBE 15HP, and that is with a test pipe and an obnoxiously loud 70mm single exhaust that you really only want for the track.

Ive driven the C5 Z06 and a c6, but IMO the S2k is far more fun. You can redline an S2000 through 3 gears and only be going 90mph, whereas a corvette would probably be doing 130 through the same gears. Also, the S is nimble enough that i had 2 corners i would power slide though on the way home. Something like this would be much more difficult in the Vette because of its larger size, but more importantly its power.
