lisence plate covers for GTG

having a small Boston G2G tomorrow and was going to make some e90post.com lisence plate covers. I'm assuming people are just making them out of normal paper and taping them on? Or are people putting a two/four hole pattern and installing them on top of the lisence plate.

My other question is (since there's no point in redo-ing work people have already done), does someone have an e90post.com and/or bmw logo gif or jpg already with the right dimensions that I can print and cut/fold down to the right size? That along with some duct tape should do the trick, correct?

Thanks in advance..

PM me...I have a PowerPoint file formatted to a 6x12 slide with E90Post.com in the forum font. Looks like attachment. If you get some posterboard and cut it into 6x12 sheets you can print them.

Words of wisdom: DON'T use duct tape and don't use double sided tape, either. Go to a stationary store and get something like Blu-Tack. It's a sticky putty that is good for hanging posters on walls. A pea size piece on each corner works well.

Hey thanks, you're the man. I was thinking someone might say that about duct tape, leaving the sticky residue. I figured it'd just be sticking to dirt though so it wouldn't matter..

can't remember who made them for the norcal/socal meet, but it was printed on thicker paper. then we just used painters tape (the blue stuff) to stick it over the plate.

Hey thanks for that suggestion. I have some at home so that would be easier.. I gotta figure out how to print these onto some poster board when I get home from work (hopefully without breaking my printer).

I made the cover for the UK2 meet in September. I took posterboard and cut it down to the 520x110mm size. Then I made up the PowerPoint slide, set the printer to the right size, and printed them out. Worked a treat.

Check out the thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...=20158&page=23 for an example (scroll down through the photos).

PM responded to. Hope you have PowerPoint. With the PowerPoint you can make modifications if you like, such as including the date, the locale, attendee's name (you might be able to see the names on some of the front shots of the cars at UK2; don't recall if there were any closeups, though), etc.

And remember, the US plates are 6" x 12" which is narrower but longer than normal printer paper.
