iPOD help

I posted this in the PC + gaming section... but maybe this is a better place for it.
got a new computer. Last one crashed pretty hard. I have over 10,000 songs and many many playlist in iTunes and on my iPod. How do i get my playlist to transfer to iTunes on my new computer?

All my music was on an external HD so i still have all that and it was simple to get that into my Itunes library. I just want to know how to get the info like play count, rating, and MOST importantly... playlist into iTunes.

Is there a way to get them from my iPod? Do not want to sync it to the "new library" because it has no good use for me other than to list off over 10,000 songs.

thanks

I am certain i am not the first in this boat and thought the forum would be a good place to ask. Thank you for the humor however.

A couple of those search results pointed to apple forums where it tells you how to find your playlist file. It's in your music/itunes folder. Just copy all those files into the same folder after you reload Windows on your computer and install itunes.

yea that has not worked for me so far I tried a few different methods to no avail.
maybe this whole windows 7 thing????

I just said to hell with it and bought Pod to PC. It is running now and working splendidly. I will just have the songs on two HDs now. I got 640 GB on the new HD so i suppose it is no big deal..

thanks for the advise!
