If you are looking for the highest % for a savings acct, emigrant is paying 5.05%...more than ING, etc
As for as retail banking goes, I have been very impressed with Wachovia and their level of customer service...

Honestly, they're all about the same when it comes to basic services. They're all large banks, so they all have to adhere to a standardized loan approval process. Small banks = good for small/medium business lending, auto loans (less regulated than bigger banks so they can do more "handshake" loans). Large banks = good for medium/large businesses and higher than avg net worth individuals. Credit unions offer the best loan rates for personal deposit rates/loans due to their "non-profit" status (They don't pay taxes, so they can afford to charge a lower rate). |
