Whats the dif. bet. SCCA and NASA

Can someone explain the difference between them please? which is better? I want to start tracking my car and take racing lessons, idk how I can do that. I do know that I want to go to the Skip Barber race school after I have more track experience.

I've only done SCCA, but I can tell you it's a blast and you can't go wrong with any organized track oriented time behind the wheel.

SCCA seems to be more strict. Most of their rules are really lame in my opinion. I run in some of there autoxes just for fun... but if you plan to be competitive in your class make sure you don't have any desire to mod your car beyond what the rule book allows (guess thats true of NASA and SCCA though).

SCCA has been around for ages. It's the classic sanctioning body that's got lots of great history. Plus a bigger and broader base throughout the country. Plus SCCA has a better insurance program, too, imho.

NASA is the new kid on the block.
