BMW Canada launches flirty bathroom ad campaign
BMW Canada is set to launch an unorthodox advertising campaign, centered around flirty public bathroom mirror messages. Using a new mirror display technology, ads will appear as patrons approach restroom mirrors. A motion detector senses the patron's movement and sets a sequence of flirty BMW ads in motion, creating a captivating and irresistible communication chain that leaves readers wanting more, or at least that's the theory.

At the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, in order to attract customers, BMW Canada was allegedly handing out little cards that were supposed to smell of BMW Dakota leather. The concept was laughable, but at least in the given venue the idea had a degree of naivety and innocence. As the Olympic are over, an advertising campaign in restrooms, along the machines offering prophylactics and personal hygiene products, is what one would expect, given the BMW Canada's reputation for dignity and class. They could enhance the washroom users' experience by migrating the Vancouver card Dakota perfume to the toilet paper.

A prophylactic smelling like Dakota leather, now that's a great idea. This campaign is going on throughout April and May and we hear from it only in mid-May.
