Friday, June 25, 2010
VW bags International Engine of The Year award Posted by: Anthony Lim The International Engine of the Year title for 2010 has been won by Volkswagen, which took the overall award with its 1.4l TSI Twincharger block for the second year running, following its victory last year. The four-cylinder turbocharged and supercharged unit, with 178bhp and 240Nm, was awarded the title at the trophy presentation during the Engine Expo 2010 in Stuttgart earlier in the week. Judged by a panel of 65 renowned automotive journalists from 32 countries, the TSI Twincharger finished 19 points ahead of BMW's 3.0l twin-turbo unit, which was the 2007 and 2008 winner. |

Amazing that this engine, with all of the HPFP issues, is still winning awards. I guess they don't have to own the cars the judge... how about biggest pain in the ass? Biggest consumer annoyance?
