McLaren F1 ECU cooling and piping?
Reading the book Driving Ambition because it is amazing! It has a diagram with the ecu being cooled by a duct that is positioned just b4 the rear wheel the filtering up a tube running over it then out the vents on top. They also have a fan sucking air from a structural vent in the wheel arch/bottom or car to add down force. How are they cooling the ECU? It is too tangled with the brake duct and oil tank to make it clear? Also they have that storage unit right there as well. Any ideas on how or if the two are connected? It's all about the aerodynamics what am I missing?

335i will be the new turner car for this decade! If it's a bimmer, it's badass. It's more fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow; F- That just go to driving school and you can do both. |

Is the gold lining under the bootlid starting to peel on yours? It's happening for me and is quite unsightly.

I didn't know there is a storage unit! Have to check it out when I go to the lab next time. It sucks that I have to rebuild the engine like every other week.

I like the humor guys! But i am trying to understand it so i can build a chassis and add the the body work. I just want to know how they worked it b/c if i can modify it then i will use it. SO i don't have unsightly hole in the body work that make the car look bad but are functional. I'd like a little form and function on this. But if your 24krt gold is pealing i think you should take it back to the dealer for a refund.

I have found a few people who can help build a car. I want something pretty simple yet exotic/futuristic looking. I am trying to borrow ideas from some of the supercars on how to be aerodynamic and efficient. Proper cooling for brakes, radiator, oil cooler, intercooler, and electronics. Since wind tunnel testing is outrageous for the normal consumer i am looking to barrow the ideas and mesh them into my concept. The power plant will be a 7L LS7 engine with or with out turbos. The corvette engine is a lot easier to get parts for than say an M5 engine, which was my first thought. Get one out of a wreck M5 V8 or V10. Also looking at weight and drivability. It will be an everyday drive with performance for fun. Looking to go fiberglass for the body and get the work done from someone down in mexico. What i want to know is even tho I have a few engineers names to contact i don't want to be a dolt and say here is money make me go fast. So does anyone know how exactly the electronics/ECU are cooled in the McLaren F1.
(P.S.) If I sound condescending it's because i haven't had my coffee and I apologize! |
