Any decent CD's or high yield saving accounts out there?
I know the rates have really gone down the last several years, but I just want to check in with some of the savvy members out there to see if they know of any place with a decent return rate.
I have been saving up on a regular basis for quite sometime now, and it's not doing much just sitting in the checking account at the moment. Thanks, fellas. |

Check into ING Direct's Orange CD rates :
http://home.ingdirect.com/products/p...asp?s=OrangeCD Still pretty dismal but better than most. 1.5% for 48-60 month? No thanks, I rather put it under the mattress. It may grow more by itself! Last edited by Tondtar; 10-10-2010 at 06:57 PM.. |

Thanks, fellas. As expected, the rates are minuscule. Oh well, I'll just keep the cash under the mattress and continue to sleep with a gun for now.

I use Capital One's high yield money market account. It was the higest at the time, but has really dropped like all other companies.
The things I like are that there are no fees, no minimums, you get a check book and a debit card. They also don't charge you if you take money out of an ATM, you only pay the fee that specific ATM you use charges. You also get like some 6 withdrawls/transfers or something like that a month and free online transfers too. It was the best at the time 3 years ago and I would imagine its still one of the best now. Its at 1.10% They have a savings one at 1.35 |
