That dog is going to be huge. Calling him with Heineken will get old. Too long when you want his attention in a hurry. You will be calling "Heiny" in no time.

I was thinking the same thing. It doesn't matter how short the name is, it always gets shortened. My pups name is Bijou and I'm always calling her Bij (like beej).

We run into a dog when we're walking named "Blue" and I asked them why they named it blue and she said they got the dog from some hillbilly who named the entire litter after different beers and their dogs full name is actually "Blue Moon."

With all the praise for adopting, and although most of you may already know about it, I think it's a good idea to mention one of the best ways to find a pet to adopt :

Many shelters, pet adoption and foster agencies list there. It's also a great source of information on what it takes to adopt and how the process works. My family and I found a dog through Petfinder.com after searching over up and down for about a month. We got exactly what we were looking for and were able to rescue a 4 year old Cocker Spaniel who was 2 weeks away from being put out in a shelter about 60 miles away.
