input delay between 360 and tv
so i got a new tv not too long ago and went to try out some black ops only to experience a noticeable lag between the controller input and execution or whatever. i've never experienced tv lag before and was wondering wtf i can do to fix it
my console settings are 1080p, i'm using the component cables and everything else is pretty much standard. the tv's refresh-rate is 120hz with a response time of 2ms so i don't think it could be that. i've also tried plugging the xbox into both of the two component inputs, but i still get lag on both. i was thinking maybe i need to make the switch to hdmi (which i'm planning to anyway), but was hoping for some input. thanks in advance |

I have an old (1st gen?) 360 with similar set up (1080p, component cable, 120Hz TV), and no noticeable input lag. It's the original component cable that has a big head with the HD sliding switch. I only played Assassin's Creed games and Fight Night though, so maybe not as obvious as shooters.
Maybe post your TV model? |

you will have a "game" mode selection under the settings menu. enable this when playing games and your response rate will be much faster. this solved my/my friend's issue instantly.

hey, sorry for the late response, but i think i figured it out. it's a philips led tv and i just turned off this 'digital natural motion' setting. i'm not sure what it does other than create lag, heh. gonna go pick up an hdmi cable in a little bit, too. thanks for the input, everyone!
