BMW 535i Spare Key?
I purchased a brand new BMW 535i today. When the CA gave me the 2 key fobs, I asked him where the plastic spare key is which is listed in the Owners Manual. He said the newer models no longer come with the plastic spare key for the adapter in the glove compartment. Is this true?

regardless of the truth of the claim (personally can't vouch either way), when you're spending that much on the car, I'd tell them to make you one, or have one ordered. It's definitely possible for them to create one

Yeah go tell them to make you one. They also don't give you a flashlight...I would also demand a flashlight.
Congrats on the car btw how much did you pay out the door? Ordered a 2011 535i 2 weeks back . Enjoy your E60. |

True. They got rid of the wallet key. Not sure if they can even order you one because it's not a standard part for your 535; therefore, no part number to order it from.

You sure it's not inside your fob? That's where my "key" is... it's not plastic, but metal.
Check out your fob... see where the little "nubbies" are? Pinch that and then pull out... and you should have a key. |

i think he's talking about something way different than the hidden key inside the fob. I had it on my 92 Accord EX back in the days when its like a credit card size, its a spare key where you can use if you lock yourself out cause it fits in your wallet. |
